Year 12 and 13 students are expected to sit for their exams in late January next year.

In a circular, Minister for Education Premila Kumar has reiterated to heads of schools to take responsibility and fully prepare the students for examinations.

Kumar is also requesting parents and guardians to effectively manage their children’s study time at home as well.

She says the Ministry wants our prospective tertiary students to be well prepared for the examinations.

Kumar has also stressed that students are to be guided on the topics that have been taught both face to face and remotely and those which are required to be covered with ample time for revisions.

She adds any school which has lost a teacher due to no vaccination will be provided replacements before the re-opening, if it has not been already done.

Kumar says she had a meeting with all heads of schools and has emphasised that the protocols prepared by the Ministry of Health must be strictly followed for the safety of students, teachers and ancillary staff.

She says a circular on the protocols for schools have been sent to all heads of schools.

Year 12 and 13 students will return to school on 1st November.

Kumar says the opening date for the rest of the classes will be advised in due course.
