In the spirit of Christmas, the Western Policing Division re-homed Lautoka City street-dwellers, gave them breakfast and also provided health screening this morning.

Divisional Police Commander, Superintendent Tomu Bulimaibau says the programme began at 4am where they rounded up 28 street dwellers in Lautoka and took them to the Lautoka Club,

They provided the street dwellers with breakfast through the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce.

He says the street dwellers have also been profiled and those that had homes in Lautoka and the Western Division were taken to their respective homes while those who do not have a home have been taken in by the Loloma Home.

Bulimaibau says the street dwellers have also been counselled as some of them were also involved in criminal activities in the past.

The Police Superintendent also confirmed they will be carrying out another round up of street-dwellers in Lautoka later today where they will be profiled, given advise and taken to their homes.

Bulimaibau is urging everyone to a responsible citizen this festive season, refrain from getting involved in criminal activities.
