Minister for Infrastructure Ro Filipe Tuisawau

We will look into having e-ticketing and cash payment for flexibility purposes going into the future.

This was stated by the Minister for Infrastructure Ro Filipe Tuisawau, while being inducted by the Land Transport Authority this morning.

The Minister says this is because of people having difficulties in accessing ticket top up machines.

Ro Filipe also says e-ticketing will continue for now but he will be liaising further with LTA on the improvements.

The Minister further says in the morning he was briefed on the current programs, structure, operations, challenges and risks faced by LTA

He says some of the challenges are the permits, open taxi ranks and PSV permits.

Ro Filipe further says they also discussed some legislative issues and regulations which need to be updated.

He adds he will be giving his full support to the board and the Core Management Team in progressing those.

The Minister says it was rather unfortunate the way the former CEO departed but has assured with the incoming Government, one of the key areas which he would like to emphasise on, is localisation of executive positions.

He says with his Ministry they will have succession plans in place to develop the local talent and their mentoring.
