We must hold dear to personal values taught by our ancestors as they guide the children who are our future generation, helping them navigate the complexities of life.

This has been highlight by Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Agni Deo Singh at the Vunivau Sangam Mahamariamman Firewalking Temple where he says personal values enriches the lives of individuals and communities.

Singh say these values were from ancestors, taught by them which serve as a foundation for personal development, social interaction, and cultural preservation.

Singh say our ancestors ensured that important knowledge, traditions, and practices are preserved and passed on to future generations.

He say the future generation should make choices that align with their values and teaching these values to the future generation is essential for nurturing individuals who can contribute positively to society, find solutions to life challenges, and promote a more compassionate and equitable environment.

The Minister say like many other religions, Hindu devotees keep their faith by performing rituals, offering prayers, and engaging in various forms of worship to deities.

The 10-day annual ceremony ended with a fire walking ceremony with 25 Hindu devotees including a four-year-old, Vaydhish Vignesh Prasad participating at Sangam Mahamariamma Firewalking Temple in Vunivau, Labasa.
