FijiFirst MP Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete is urging the new Fijian Government to take the cue from the FijiFirst Government’s initiative to improve the working conditions, salaries and benefits of the Health Ministry workers.

He says under the FijiFirst leadership the civil servants have had increases in salaries and while the economic downturn encountered by COVID-19, contrary to some politicians on the other side of the house recommended, the Prime Minister did not allow any pay cut to any civil servant.

He is also urging the Coalition Government to adhere to the constitutional requirements in the civil service.

Dr. Waqainabete says the Government’s mission is to build unity to social cohesion and further improve and strengthen the economy through sustainable growth, with the ultimate objective to improve the lives of all the people of Fiji.

He says the fast recovery post COVID-19 is now facing a subdued velocity.

Dr. Waqainabete says the difference in policies that is being seen with the Ministers is showing distrust and uncertainty in the economy.

The former Health Minister says the vendetta and deviation from the Constitution is something that our multilateral partners will watch with interest.

The MP says we all have to follow the law and that begins with following the Constitution.

He says as leaders, Ministers and Assistant Ministers, they must initiate confidence in Fijians.
