While marking International Childhood Cancer Day the Walk On Walk Strong Kids Fiji team invited different organisations, friends, families and schools to raise awareness on childhood cancer in Fiji.
WOWS Kids Fiji Founder Sina Kami says the theme for this year is ‘Inspiring Action’, which is mainly to bring people together and talk about the importance of early signs and symptoms that they need to look out for.
Kami says they do this walk every year but the most important thing is for the children living with cancer to see that people care.
She is advising parents that if they see their child not feeling well, then they must take them to the doctor.
The WOWS Founder says she knows some people will resort to herbal medicine, but pleads that it is good to find out early if their child has cancer as it can still be treated.
Over 100 people attended the WOWS event that was held at Albert Park from corporate bodies, friends, family and Marist Brothers High School students.
