People can now pay their water bills through the SOLE Fintech Fiji app after the Water Authority of Fiji partnered with the company to provide online bill-pay services to customers.

WAF Chief Executive Officer Doctor Amit Chanan says the app is a fast and easy method for customers to pay their water bills, especially for those in rural areas and remote islands where the internet is accessible.

Chanan says customers who have internet connectivity no longer need to travel to WAF offices for bill payments.

He says when a water bill is paid by a customer, WAF will receive an automatic email confirmation of the water bill by that customer, and simultaneously, the customer will receive an email receipt of the bill payment confirmation.

CEO says this is instant and avoids all paper receipts or paid text messages.

He further says customers will have freedom of choice in paying their water bills on a timely basis.

During a meeting with the SOLE Management Team, they briefed the WAF executive on their cyber security safeguards and safety measures on the Sole platform.

SOLE Fintech Founder and Chairman Semi Tukana acknowledged WAF for including SOLE, as another payment channel for its customers.

Tukana says technology and payment channels are evolving and developing rapidly to bring about efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Sole is a Fijian financial technology (Fintech) business partnered with the Australian and New Zealand government-supported Market Development Facility to make digital financial services more accessible in the Pacific region.
