WAF advises about potential water disruption at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant

People are urged to store water as the Water Authority of Fiji says that areas usually impacted by high turbidity at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant may face water disruption due to heavy rain.

They say the water quality in their source streams may be significantly affected, leading to challenges in water treatment and supply.

The WAF says this may reduce water production at the Tamavua Treatment Plant.

Areas that may be affected are as follows:

Namadi Heights

Mika Drue Place and Pathik Cresent.

Bayview Heights

Mead Road, including Volavola Road, Evetts Place, Top Shop Road, Sawau Road, Yohann Place, Vuibau Place, Sam Lal Road, Paul Sloan Street, Joyce Perks Street.

Sakoca areas

Elevated areas along Lakha Singh Road, including Sakoca Road, Wrong Turn, Delaiveiruka Place, Raikiwai Road, and Nagatugatu Road.

Tacirua

Elevated areas along Tacirua Road, including Raibevu Road, Tacirua Heights, Raisuluwaki Road, Nakoivalu Road, Dokanaisuva Road.

Tamavua

MH Superfresh, Upper Mead Road, Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street Juction, Including Tamavua Koro, Niranji, Devoji, Upper Ragg Avenue, Upper Mead Road to Lovoni Road Junction, Goodrum, Kaba Place, Upper Nailuva, Upper Samabula area, Upper Raiwaqa.

Dokanisuva

Princes Road from the Junction of Savutalele to the Junction of Khalsa Road, including Jeremiah College, Savutalele Settlement Road, Karta Sen Feeder Road.

Colo-i-Suva Along Princes Road from Joes Farm to Sawani Service Station including Vunikawai Road & Naisogo Road, Coloisuva Police Post, Coloisuva Forestry Quarters, Raintree Lodge, Coloisuva Koro, Crest Chicken Feeder Road, Uluibeka, Vuinikawai, Joes Farm, Naisogo, Nilqiri

Lami area

Upper Delanivesi Areas, Upper Areas of Lami Village Road, including Rokodrawe Road, Nakurukuru Village Access Road, Upper Valenicina Road, Matata, Qauia Street, Upper Naimawi Street, Waivote, Upper Nasevou Street, Kalekana Settlement Road, Panaromic Road, Muaivuso Village, Waiqanake Area, Beniveli. They say their teams are actively monitoring the situation and will work to manage production levels.

The WAF urges people to limit non-essential water usage during this time and ensure water is kept clean and covered.
