Another milestone achievement for the country as the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) Chief Executive Officer, Dr Amit Chanan, was recognised as an IWA Fellow by the International Water Association (IWA) during the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Toronto, Canada.

WAF Board Chairman Ratu Savenaca Seniloli congratulated Dr Chanan on the achievement, saying that this is a remarkable and impressive achievement for the company and its CEO and Fiji is delighted to have a leader with his calibre and always striving for greater heights, all aimed at ensuring that the people of Fiji have proper water and sanitation needs.

He says the IWA Fellows recognition represents a high honour bestowed upon an individual by the Association.

Seniloli says IWA Fellows are an esteemed group of global water professionals known for their expertise and leadership in the world of water science, technology, and management in the water sector as it continues to evolve.

WAF Board Director and former President of the Australian Water Association (AWA) Graham Dooley congratulated Dr Chanan on this milestone.

He says over the past couple of decades, Dr Chanan has made significant contributions to the water industry in Australia, Fiji as well as across the Pacific.

Dooley says this is a well-deserved recognition of his great work in moving the water sector forward.
