The vibrant sounds of music will once again fill the air at Ratu Sukuna Park today as the Vude Queen, Laisa Vulakoro, alongside some of Fiji’s most beloved female artists take the stage to celebrate International Women’s Day today.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Vulakoro says this is the first time they are back on the beautiful stage since it reopened, and they are making today extra special for the women of Fiji.

Vulakoro says today is a special day for women, as the event promises to be a show-stopping celebration of the strength, talent and resilience of women from all walks of life.

She says her band will back up some of the powerhouses of Fiji’s music artists including Pauline Bautani, Sophia Tukana, Georgina Ledua and Milika Roro who is partially blind.

Vulakoro adds they want to celebrate all women, not just those who are healthy, but also women with disabilities like Roro, who have remarkable singing talent.

The Vude Queen encourages everyone to bring their families, as there will be stalls and more entertainment for all to enjoy.

The event ends at 2pm at Ratu Sukuna Park.
