Vodafone Fiji is urging recipients of the second round of the government's $50 cash assistance to avoid standing in lines for hours but to use cashless payments.

This comes after long lines of people were seen outside majority of the MPAiSA outlets in the Suva-Lami and Nadi–Lautoka corridors.

Chief Marketing Officer, Rajnesh Prasad says the $50 received by beneficiaries is safe in customers MPAiSA wallet without any deduction or expiry and can be withdrawn at anytime.

Prasad says with the number of COVID-19 cases surging in the country, people are putting themselves and others at risk of contracting COVID if they spend long hours in crowded places.

He says it is expected that most people will spend the money received in buying essential items such as groceries from supermarkets and on health and hygiene products from pharmacies.

He says customers can buy groceries and pay using MPAiSA QR at all major supermarkets including Shop n Save, New World, Max Value, Super Fresh, Extra Supermarket, RB Patel, CJS Supermarket, Fresh Choice Supermarket, Food City, Tara’s Supermarket and Consumers Supermarket in Nadi and at almost all major pharmacies Fiji wide.

Prasad is urging consumers to take the safer, cashless, and contact less payment option.

Prasad says despite the current situation, Vodafone Fiji and its staff are doing their best to continue serving its customers.
