With increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country and many people having no option but to go to supermarkets to get their grocery shopping done, Vodafone Fiji says they are working with banks and some major supermarkets to make things easier for people to be able to shop with their money wallet, M-PAiSA.

When asked by fijivillage, Vodafone’s Head of eCommerce and Corporate Affairs, Shailendra Prasad says Foodcity is already on VitiKart however they are looking at the M-PAiSA option for the online shopping platforms for some major supermarkets.

Prasad says they are also talking to all the banks to ensure that people can use internet banking to transfer funds from their bank account to their M-PAiSA account for payments.

Prasad says they currently have an option for M-PAiSA users to transfer money from their Westpac and HFC bank account to M-PAiSA.

He says at a time, when the risk of spreading COVID is so high, they have been advocating for cashless payments.

Prasad says the integration of M-PAiSA with as many banks will make life so much easier and safer for thousands of people.

He also says they are open to work with banks and financial institutions to facilitate the transfer of funds either from customer’s bank account into M-PAISA or from M-PAISA into customer’s bank account.
