A Nabitu farmer says crops from 92 farms that were destroyed during TC Harold last month were re-planted and the farmers are expected to harvest their crops by next month.

Abhay Sharma says this could likely result in the market being flooded with vegetables that will surely result in the prices of vegetables to decrease.

He says about 95% of the farmers have been self-reliant and have planted vegetables from the seeds they had stored.

Sharma adds six houses were damaged and one house was destroyed during the cyclone.

He says the family whose house was destroyed has been living in a shack and are seeking assistance to rebuild their home.

The farmer says other families in Nabitu have also started to rebuild their homes themselves and are not relying on any sort of assistance from the government.

Sharma, who is also the Head Priest of the Nabitu Ram Temple says he is grateful to the donors from overseas who have come forward and donated money to repair the temple after the roof was blown during TC Harold.
