Any person below the age of 18 who receives a COVID-19 vaccine can now participate in the Win Together Sweepstakes draw.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says those under 18 can only participate with the consent of a parent or guardian.

He says the consent can be given during the online registration or at the vaccination site.

Online registration is available on vra.digitalfiji.gov.fj

The draw will be held on 10th October, where 10 people will get a chance to win $5,100 each.

The Health Ministry says the dates, clusters and venues for schools will be announced this weekend.

Children from 15 to 17 years of age across Fiji can be vaccinated with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from Monday.

According the Health Ministry, children from 15 to 17 years of age are being vaccinated first as they are mostly in secondary school and some of them are nearing the end of their secondary education.

Year 12 and Year 13 students also need to sit external exams to progress to higher education.

Through the Ministry of Education, the Moderna vaccine will be rolled out by school clusters within the four divisions. Schools that are close by to each other will group to form a cluster, where students who are 15 to 17 years of age can get vaccinated.

Children will need to receive two doses of the Moderna vaccine which is administered at a dose interval of 28 days.

Parents and guardians will be asked to sign a consent form for children receiving this vaccine.

They will also be able to register their child online before he or she receives the first dose of the Moderna vaccine.
