The Fiji Men’s 7s team have won their second game 28-14 against Canada in the Tokyo Olympics and it was another tough encounter for the team.

Fiji scored the first try through Napolioni Bolaca who made a line break after Fiji had won a scrum following a knock on by Canada.

Fiji were awarded a penalty inside the Canadian half and Jiuta Wainiqolo took a quick tap and raced away to score Fiji’s second try.

Canada hit back just before half time with a try of their own to close the gap to 14-7 at half-time.

The second half started off with both teams failing to find cohesiveness in their play.

Fijian Captain Jerry Tuwai took a quick tap from a penalty and sent Aminiasi Tuimaba through for Fiji’s third try.

Canada hit straight back with a try of their own and closed the gap to 21-14.

Asaeli Tuivuaka sealed the win for Fiji with the fourth try as Fiji won 28-14.

Fiji had earlier beaten Japan 24-19.

Our last group match is against Great Britain tomorrow.

Great Britain have won both their matches and are yet to concede a point. They beat Japan 34-0 while they had defeated Canada 24-0.

The national side will play Great Britain at 12.30pm tomorrow.

The quarterfinals will start at 8.30pm tomorrow, the semifinals will be played from 2pm Wednesday while the final will be played at 9pm Wednesday.

In another result, New Zealand won their second game after they beat Argentina 35-14.
