The Fiji Police Force is anticipating a migration of criminal activities and is warning those who want to commit crimes that they will get to them.

This is after a joint divisional effort resulted in the arrest of two people who are alleged to have been involved in a series of robberies and burglaries on Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan says the coordinated efforts resulted in the arrest of the two who are alleged to have committed several burglaries and robberies on the two main islands.

ACP Khan says the arrest was made by the joint task force in Seaqaqa, whereby the suspects were hiding in a cane field.

He says the team had been pursuing the suspects following recent cases of burglaries and robberies in the Labasa area.

He adds the arresting team has also made several recoveries of items that are alleged to have been stolen from 5 robbery and burglary cases recorded during this month in Labasa.

ACP Khan says they have increased their momentum in targeting receivers who provide a market for perpetrators of robberies and burglaries.

He says they have arrested a number of alleged receivers of stolen goods and are putting pressure on these illegal markets.

The two people remain in custody as investigations continue.
