Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu has warned that strict action will be taken against those who put up hate speeches that can incite fear and hatred amongst the members of the community.

Tudravu highlighted this following a post that has gone viral on social media and has words that could incite hatred and fear.

He says many people that are posting, commenting, sharing and supporting such hate posts showed they were not fully aware of the consequences and they are advising the public not to be carried away by such information.

The Acting Commissioner is urging the public to refrain from such actions as they will not allow this type of hate speech and rhetoric to continue and will investigate those involved in such actions.

Tudravu says while we are in a situation that needs everyone’s support, the rhetoric will not assist but will make things more difficult as we try to battle the pandemic.

The Acting Commissioner is urging the public to continue adhering to the health restrictions and orders, stay home and enjoy the time with our loved ones.

He says we should all work together for the betterment of this country.
