Minister for Education Premila Kumar has stressed that it is still too early to talk about having sports competitions in schools next year as the first priority is to get the students back into the classroom.
Kumar says there is a school re-opening guideline which every school must comply with and they are only focusing on that for now.
She says they can have a conversation around sports competitions later when there is a further reduction in positive COVID-19 cases in the community.
Kumar adds the normal sports activities that happens in schools will continue however the competitions are something that need to be planned.
