Thousands of people living in Nasinu and certain areas in Suva may experience low water pressure to intermittent supply from this afternoon.

The Water Authority of Fiji says the interruption in supply is due to a burst DN450 bulk main, which feeds treated water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku main distribution reservoir.

They say their ground teams will soon mobilize to the site to carry out urgent repairs.

Areas affected include Naulu, Nakasi, Wainibuku Road, Davuilevu, Dibulu, Koronivia, Nepani, Nadawa, Ratu Dovi Road, Nadera, Narere, Navosai, Omkar Road, Makoi Road, Kalokalo Crescent, Tuirara, Tovata as well as elevated areas of Wainibuku to the Suva Corridor, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Upper Namadi and parts of Tamavua, Dokanaisuva, Sakoca, Colo-I-Suva, Laucala Beach, Raiwaqa, Raiwai, Caubati, Kinoya, Fletcher Road, Lower Raiwaqa, Lower Raiwai, Domain, Muanikau, Nasese, Nasova, Flagstaff, Victoria Parade, Knolly Street, Nasole, Nadera, and areas in Valelevu.

The Authority says they urge customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely and to store water for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.

They are asking all Fijians to practice reliance and at all times to have water stored for at least two days.
