Telecom Fiji has signed an agreement with Starlink to leverage its advanced satellite network and become the authorized Starlink reseller in the country, ensuring every business and community can thrive in the digital age.

With this agreement, Telecom Fiji will be able to significantly expand its service footprint and offer high-speed internet access to a wider range of customers.

Telecom Fiji says this includes businesses in rural communities, schools, health centres, and government departments. They say Starlink's advanced technology utilizes its network of low Earth orbit satellites to deliver high-speed internet access to users worldwide.

They added that this innovative solution will seamlessly integrate with Telecom's existing technology portfolio, providing a comprehensive range of connectivity and digital solutions tailored to the local market.

Telecom Fiji says they can now offer reliable internet access to previously underserved areas, particularly those with limited or no traditional infrastructure.

They say this initiative aligns with Telecom Fiji's core vision of fostering a more connected Fiji by providing broader access to the global digital community.

Telecom Fiji CEO Charles Goundar says working with Starlink is a significant milestone for them, and this collaboration allows them to bring advanced satellite technology to the most remote parts of Fiji.

He says Starlink's service will complement their other product capabilities allowing them to offer innovative business solutions. Goundar says they will be announcing their attractive and flexible product offerings shortly for small to large businesses, and customers will be able to order conveniently through their online portal.

He says with the Starlink kit, customers will be able to choose from various other service options such as managed firewall for Cybersecurity, cloud applications, backup, and storage at Telecom’s data centre, amongst other services.

He adds the other convenient factor is that the existing Telecom customers, their monthly charges will be incorporated into their bills.

Goundar says these include ensuring uninterrupted operations with mission-critical backup links, seamless integration with cloud-based applications and services to enhance cloud readiness, and facilitating efficient communications and productivity within and outside the organization through advanced business communication technologies.

Additionally, businesses will be empowered to leverage the power of artificial intelligence for improved efficiency and decision-making as part of their digital transformation.
