Minister for Defence, National Security and Policing, Inia Seruiratu has highlighted that technology is definitely the way forward for most law enforcement agencies, thus creating meaningful change through superior services.

While speaking at the opening of the newly renovated Fiji Police National Command and Coordination Centre at the Totogo Police Station in Suva, Seruiratu says we live in an era of evolving global challenges that old security concepts may be considered irrelevant or obsolete, therefore, the need for constant review.

He says the new upgrade will place a lot of expectations on the Fiji Police Force and the onus will be on the members of the institution, to work together and deliver the desired results.

He adds the continued support of the Australian and New Zealand governments towards enhancing security cooperation between the countries is deeply rooted in our common understanding that the Pacific Region is safer and secure when we work together.

Seruiratu says many Australian and New Zealand citizens will visit Fiji or some have chosen to call Fiji home, and they should feel a heightened sense of security, knowing that the Fiji Police Force has a state of the art monitoring system that will offer a safer and more secure Fiji.
