Deputy Leader of People's Alliance and Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Lynda Tabuya and Deputy Leader, Dan Lobendahn have been discharged after a nolle prosequi filed by FICAC for their case where they were charged with two counts each of prohibition of vote buying and breach of campaign rules.

Speaking after the withdrawal of the case by FICAC, Tabuya says justice is done as it has been almost 9 months since they have been enquiring with FICAC on the progress of the case and the reason for the delays.

She says it has come to light that FICAC has a weak case and therefore it is the right thing to withdraw the case.

The main reasons for the withdrawal of the case was that FICAC has not been able to finalise a statement from the main complainant, former Supervisor of Elections, who has an investigation pending against him, and the video submitted as evidence is not the original and FICAC has been unable to ascertain the authenticity of the video.

Tabuya was represented by Adish Narayan while Lobendahn was represented by Karl Jamnadas.
