Students that require transport assistance can now collect application forms from their teachers or heads of schools or download the form from the Education Ministry website.

The Education Ministry says heads of schools are required to download the transport assistance form and provide it to students seeking transport assistance.

According to the Education Ministry, students whose parents may have recently lost their employment or have reduced hours of work can apply but their parents have to provide documentation as evidence to support the application.

The documents required include copies of tax identification numbers (TIN) for both parents and guardians, salary slips, or employment contracts of parents or guardians.

Parents and guardians that do not have documentation on sustainable income can provide a statutory declaration and other documents such as evidence of social welfare payments.

Education Minister Rosy Akbar says they will assist children who require transportation support provided they furnish them with the required information.

She is also requesting parents to be supportive and ensure that all lost or damaged cards are reported to avoid any travel inconvenience.

Time restrictions on the subsided cards are still in place and can only be used between 6.30am to 9.00am and 2.30pm to 5.30pm from Monday to Friday.
