Spinal Injury Association of Fiji will be getting a boost in assisting people living with disabilities as the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation will be handing over mobility devices and medical supplies worth $1.2 million.

The Foundation says this significant initiative is in partnership with PhysioNet UK and the British High Commission.

They say the 40-footer consignment will be distributed to communities, charities, hospitals, village health nurses, dispensaries and individuals across Fiji.

The Foundation says this comprehensive initiative aims to empower individuals with disabilities, fostering independence in their daily lives and alleviating burdens on families.

They say through its 23rd consignment and the Vodafone World of Difference program, the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation has provided direct support exceeding $1 million to the Spinal Injury Association.

They say this initiative contributed mobility devices and medical supplies valued at over $30 million but substantially impacted Fiji's communities.

The Foundation says their commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities is evident in the significant resources provided, emphasizing the importance of corporate social responsibility.

Foundation Director Manarusa Vanabale says they believe in creating a more inclusive society.

Vanabale says this consignment reinforces their dedication to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

While expressing gratitude, Spinal Injury Association Manager Merewalesi Rodan says the Association is immensely thankful for the invaluable support extended through this remarkable consignment.

She says these mobility devices and medical supplies will undoubtedly make a profound impact on the lives of spinal injury beneficiaries in Fiji.

She says they appreciate the commitment of Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, PhysioNet UK, and the British High Commission to fostering inclusivity and accessibility within our communities.

Roden says this collaborative effort reflects a shared dedication to enhancing the quality of life for those with disabilities and they look forward to furthering their collective impact on the community members' well-being.
