Deputy Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci reveals they have found out that parents are using children, who are in Primary or Secondary Schools, to sell drugs in school or transport drugs to another area.

He is calling on parents and guardians not to humiliate their children by giving them drugs to peddle because our children are the future of the country.

While speaking on the Viti FM Vakaribamalamala program, DPC Raikaci says they arrest people with drugs every day, and drugs do not discriminate between age or race.

He says people from the age group between 15 years to 40 years are being arrested for possession of drugs.

The Deputy Commissioner is urging parents to stop this heinous act as it destroys the future of a child.

DPC Raikaci is also pleading to parents and guardians to take their God-given responsibilities seriously after witnessing a high number of minors dying in the past few months after their involvement in road accidents and other fatalities.

He says the accident where a 1-year-old boy died in Navua should never have happened if both the parents were attentive and aware of what their children were doing.

He further says Police teams are conducting visitations in communities, villages and schools, highlighting the importance of parental responsibilities.
