A good Samaritan can be found in everyone and it was fortunate for 14-year-old Jope Kolitamana and 15-year-old Manasa Bukawaqa Katonivere to meet Nirmal Singh who assisted the two boys get enrolled at the Nabua Secondary School for this academic year.

While speaking to Fijivillage News, Singh who is from Nadroga and resides in Vatuwaqa, says Katonivere's parents called him and asked if he could assist in looking for a school in Suva for their son to be enrolled into.

He says most of the schools he went to were full and they rejected Katonivere's application until he went to Nabua and explained to the school principal about the need to enroll Katonivere since he came from Wainimala Secondary School.

He further says some of Kolitamana’s school stationary and uniforms were bought so that he can start school today.

He says they are going together with Kolitamana to buy some other school materials after school today.

Singh says Kolitamana's father passed away last month and he had given up on furthering his education after Year 8.

He adds that he has also reached out to Nabua Secondary yesterday and is grateful that he received a call from the school that a space is available for Kolitamana to join Year 9.

Singh also believes that the two boys would do well in school and would make their parents proud.

He says he will support the education of both boys until they graduate from high school.

Meanwhile, Kolitamana and Katonivere thanked Singh for his great support by providing all the necessary materials that are required by the school for them to get started.

Singh is urging people to reach out to informal settlements and those who are unfortunate and provide the help that they need so that it creates a better environment to live in.
