Minister for Defence, National Security and Policing, Inia Seruiratu has urged front-liners not to let laxity and complacency creep into the system and maintain their level of discipline and professionalism at all times.

The Minister visited the three major containment borders in the Central Division, acknowledging the service and sacrifices these officers are doing in serving on the front-line of the Government’s COVID-19 operations.

Seruiratu says there has been a lot of criticisms and misinformation, but for them, they are all above this and urged them to keep up the good work.

He says they have a big responsibility to get the nation through this crisis and the people need them as this is a very critical time and hopefully it will be over and done soon.

The Minister also reminded the officers to look out for one another and remain patriotic and loyal to the responsibility bestowed upon them.

Seruiratu also acknowledged the support by the families of police officers currently on deployment for COVID-19 operations, saying this has been a strong driving force in their participation in the Government’s containment efforts.

He also met officers currently based at the various Forward Command Base around Suva.
