Minister for Defence, National Security and Policing, Inia Seruiratu says we are not in normal times and our collective security takes precedence over our individual rights.

While supporting 2021/2022 National Budget, Seruiratu says human behaviour and human rights are the biggest challenges for Fiji now, not the virus, as they battle against COVID-19.

He says their collective national efforts against COVID-19 and projections to recovery is continuously challenged by the increasing misinformation spewed to discredit vaccination that is a critical prerequisite to safeguarding all Fijians.

Seruiratu says this has been exacerbated by lies and propaganda brought by anti-government elements in Fiji and abroad.

He says the vaccines have been secured for Fiji, the people have to play their part, and the Government is putting Fiji first.

Seruiratu also talked about the cloak and dagger issue in SODELPA as highlighted by Sitiveni Rabuka after he left that party. He says that is the alternative Government at this stage when the Opposition is talking about the Prime Minister.

He has also thanked the frontliners who are constantly working around the clock to fight this virus.
