Senior Boys 400 meters final battle between RKS, Ratu Navula and Ratu Luke Memorial School

The Battle in the Senior Boys 400 meters final will be among the athletes of RKS Josua Koro, Lepani Baticuvu and Joeli Ravulo and Panapasa Tawakeve of Ratu Navula College and Ratu Luke Memorial School’s Aisea Duwai.

Baticuvu won the Intermediate Boys 400metres final last year for Ratu Luke Memorial School while Ravulo of RKS won the silver medal.

The fastest time of 50.03seconds was set by Josua Koro and Lepani Baticuvu of RKS, their fellow team mate, Joeli Ravulo finished with a time of 50.55seconds, Panapasa Tawakece of Ratu Navula College clocked a time of 50.89seconds while Ratu Luke Memorial School’s Aisea Duwai finished with a time of 50.98seconds.

The tussle in the Intermediate Boys 400metres final will be between Suva Grammar school’s Meli Romuakalou who has the fastest time of 50.56seconds and Savenaca Niu of Ratu Navula College who finished with a time of 50.94seconds in their respective heats.

Rivals George Simpson of Suva Grammar School, Ronald Sharma of Cuvu College and Tomasi Tuitatava of Natabua High School will be the athletes to watch in the Junior Boys 400m final.

Sharma, Simpson and Tuitatava won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in the Sub Junior Boys 400metres final last year.

Simpson clocked the fastest time of 54.14seconds in the Junior Boys 400 metres heats, Sharma clocked a time of 54.44seconds while Tuitatava of Natabua ran a time of 54.81seconds and also in the mix is Mosese Sivo of Sacred Heart College running a time of 54.88seconds.

In the Sub Junior 400metres final Kolinio Kadaoca of RKS is the only athlete that finished under 57.0seconds in the heats with a time of 56.60seconds.

Looking at other the fastest times in other heats by Lekutu Secondary School’s Akuila Ceguadrau ran a time of 57.07seconds while  Vilikesa  Namalo of LDS finished with a time of 57.12seconds.

 

400m Girls

In the Girls Division, Melaia Ralagakali of Ba Sangam College ran the fastest time in the Senior Girls 400 metres heats with a time of 61.34seconds.

Wati Ledua of Holy Cross College finished with a time of 62.21seconds while Vani Buleki of Jasper Williams High School clocked a time of 62.30seconds. 

Adi Cakobau School’s Ulamila Koroisavou, Ana Kaitoga and Emele Volavola are the ones to watch in the Intermediate Girls 400 metres event.

Kaitoga, Koroisavou and Volavola won the gold, silver and bronze for ACS in the Junior Girls 400metres event last year.

Koroisavou clocked the fastest time in the Intermediate Girls 400metres heats clocking 60.90seconds, her school mate, Ana Kaitoga clocked a time of 61.48seconds while Veniana Galo of Nadi Sangam College ran a time of 61.69seconds and Emele Volavola clocked a time of 61.86seconds.

In the Junior Girls 400metres event Kesaia Boletakanakadavu of ACS clocked the fastest time in the heats with 60.61 seconds, Namosi Secondary School’s Salome Vakatawabai clocked a time of 62.74 seconds while Raijeli Rakarakatia of Wainibuka Secondary School finished with a time of 63.31 seconds.

Boletakanakadavu broke the Sub Junior Girls 400metres record last year with a time of 59.52 seconds while running for Kadavu Provincial School.

The athletes to watch in the Sub Junior Girls 400metres final are Melania Ranadi of ACS, Vani Sulua of Jasper Williams High School, Vani Divasu of Sigatoka Andhra College and Lute Vananalagi of ACS.

Ranadi clocked the fastest time in the 400metres Sub Junior Girls heats with a time of 62.0 seconds, Sulua finished with a time of 62.42 seconds, Divasu clocked a time of 62.96seconds while Vananalagi had a time of 63.09seconds.
