Save the Children Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer, Shairana Ali.

Save the Children Fiji assisted about 96 families with grocery packs in the Suva-Nasinu corridor yesterday and will be assisting another 40 families in Nausori tomorrow.

CEO Shairana Ali says providing assistance will now be a lot easier as the border in Nakasi has been lifted.

Ali says they have received more than a thousand requests for assistance, however, these families are on their waiting list as they do not have enough resources to assist them right now.

She says this assistance is especially for single parents, unemployed people, families with young children, families who have children with special needs and grandparents who are looking after their grandchildren.

If you fall in any of these categories, you can message your contact and other relevant details to Save the Children Fiji’s Facebook page.

The CEO says their resources are extremely limited and they are only assisting families who are in genuine need.

They add the assistance from Save the Children was made possible through donations from local business houses and individuals.

If you want to help Save the Children Fiji to assist more families than you can deposit money to their back account.

The Save the Children Fund account is with ANZ Bank and the account is number 11316003 while the swift code is ANZBFJFX.
