Education is not just about gaining knowledge for personal growth but a powerful tool that can be used to gain knowledge and contribute to the betterment of the society.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services Ro Filipe Tuisawau to the students who graduated today from the Fiji National University.

A total of 489 students graduated, with 392 males, 97 females, and 42 regional and international students.

Ro Filipe says every piece of knowledge they have acquired, every skill they have developed, is a tool that can help build the future of our nation.

He says as graduates, they are the future leaders in their respective fields and they will face challenges and the road ahead may not always be smooth, but he says that he has no doubt that they have been equipped with the resilience, skills, and determination to overcome them.

Ro Filipe says they are entering industries that are essential to the advancement of the nation, and he urges them to never underestimate the impact of their work.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says at FNU, they understand the ever-evolving nature of the job market.

Professor Nabobo-Baba says today they celebrate the diversity of talent, the richness of experiences, and the boundless potential that each of them possess.

She says they have worked tirelessly, demonstrated unwavering commitment, and overcome challenges, and today, they are here to honour those accomplishments.

Professor Nabobo-Baba says through constant collaboration with industries, they ensure that their graduates are prepared not just academically but are equipped with the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel.

She says the growing industries in engineering, technical, and vocational sectors require dynamic, skilled professionals, and they are proud that FNU students are leading the way.
