Rice farmers of Vunivau Settlement in Bua given a new rice harvester

Rice farming will now be much easier for farmers in Vunivau Settlement in Bua after they were given a brand new $60,000 rice harvester.

While handing over the harvester, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says this will cut down on labour and the cost of growing rice.

Bainimarama says this will also allow farmers to grow crops with higher yields without worrying about physically toiling to reap the benefits.

He says by creating modern and mechanised rice farming, they are bringing this crop into the future and uplifting the quality of lives in the process.

The Prime Minister says he is looking forward to watching the many families of Vunivau take advantage of this new tool and share the economic benefits.

Bainimarama adds the Government is providing assistance every step of the way to make rice farming as hassle-free and profitable as possible.
