A review of the nightclub hours has been requested by the Police and they have also raised concerns about some food vendors and shoeshine boys selling electronic items like mobile phones stolen from the nightclubs.

It has also been revealed that some food vendors and shoeshine boys are selling drugs as well.

Police raised concerns about this issue with the Home Affairs Minister, Pio Tikoduadua during their briefing at the Totogo Police Station.

fijivillage News has continued to receive reports of people being targeted coming out of the nightclubs, getting attacked and robbed.

Many do not file police reports but have called for an increased presence of police officers to curb this problem.

Many people have also raised concerns about the drunk and disorderly behaviour of people in the early hours of the morning. They say many areas of Suva City is an eyesore and quite dangerous at around 4am onwards.

While reacting on the issue regarding food vendors and shoeshine boys, Tikoduadua says this has to be dealt with and they can lose their license.

Tikoduadua also says they have to weigh out the cost and benefits either way whether the monetary gains are actually worth the social problems arising out of nightclubs being open until 5am.

He advised Acting Police Commissioner, Juki Fong Chew that they should give it to the academia to conduct a study on the social implications and avoid making some hap-hazard subjective analysis.
