Concerns have been raised by residents of Khalsa Road about rubbish being scattered on the roadside and the big yellow bins not being collected by contractors when it is full.

While speaking to fijivillage News, a resident says that it is very unhealthy for people living in the area as all the rubbish has been scattered around, and the bins are not being replaced.

The resident says the bins should be collected at least fortnightly so that it is not overflowing and the environment will be safe as well.

She says when the bins are full, dogs usually take out the rubbish and scatter it in their compounds, especially diapers.

While talking to the fijivillage News, the Acting Director Service for Suva City Council, Atalifo Wally says the team already had discussions on the above issue and are arranging the dispatch team to clear the rubbish from around the Khalsa Rd area.

Wally says they will have further discussions on the issue with the Chairman before responding.
