Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad has made a call that the rapid increase in drug cases in schools and amongst our youths must stop immediately.

While officiating at the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Fiji’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Professor Prasad says the government is very concerned about the influx of hard drugs in the country.

Professor Prasad says he is a firm believer that faith-based organisations such as ISKCON can play a critical role in the country’s fight against drugs.

The Deputy PM is urging people to commit to working in this spirit of unity and service and seek the blessings of God as the nation-building journey continues, fostering a society where peace and harmony prevail.

Professor Prasad acknowledged the profound impact that the ISKCON Fiji society has had on Fiji.

He says in a world that often seems to be divided and tumultuous, ISKCON’s message of unity, peace, and self-awareness stands out.

Meanwhile, the Deputy PM says the National Development Plan 2025-2029 and Vision 2050 will be launched tomorrow.
