Outgoing Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach Simon Raiwalui has laid down the challenge to the British and Irish Lions to equal their record with the Flying Fijians by coming over to Fiji and playing a test match against them.

Raiwalui says the Flying Fijians are the only team undefeated against the Lions with a 1-0 record.

He says it's either they play against the Flying Fijians or a Pacific Islands team which he thinks would be a huge appetite.

Raiwalui says it will come down to the host country, as it’s their fixtures, and they will want to do more of an ANZAC Test than a Pacific Islands game.

He says he played for the Pacific Islands and it was a great opportunity to do it, but selfishly, he would like it to be Fiji to do it.

Raiwalui says it would be a great opportunity to include the Pacific Islands, even if it is a difficult logistical challenge to bring it all together.

He says one week to sort players from different teams and cultures is enjoyable but would be a great challenge.

He adds either way, he would want Fiji or the Pacific Islands team to play a test match against the Lions.

The Flying Fijians last played the British and Irish Lions in 1977 at Buckhurst Park in Suva winning 25-21.
