Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with the seasonal workers present in Australia under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme and assured them the full support from the People's Coalition Government.

Rabuka acknowledged the seasonal workers throughout Australia for their contributions in the form of remittances and for assisting their families back home.

While visiting some workers in Teys Australia a meat processing company in Queensland, Brisbane, he says that the government is closely working with Australia to enhance cooperation in the labour mobility sector.

Rabuka says through the High Commission in Canberra, they have appointed liaison officers to assist seasonal workers in Australia.

The visit was also an opportunity for the seasonal workers to discuss and raise issues such as superannuation contributions, visas and family welfare.

He adds that under the revised Vuvale Partnership Fiji and Australia have bigger plans in place that will benefit both countries.
