Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will attend the National Presidential prayer breakfast, an annual event in Washington DC, that brings together the United States lawmakers, international leaders and business figures for discussions on faith and good governance.

Rabuka also confirmed that he has been formally requested to deliver the opening prayer in the event.

The Prime Minister says he is looking forward to meeting with the US lawmakers and other notable dignitaries for a time of fellowship and to reaffirm their support for democratic stewardship.

He will also attend a series of high-level bilateral meetings, including one with Congressman Ed Case, Chair of Congressional Pacific Islands Caucus, to further discuss the relationship between the US and Fiji, and other Pacific Island nations.

The Prime Minister is also expected to meet with the Fijian diaspora in Washington and California to provide updates on the nation’s progress over the past two years since they took office.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad will serve as the Acting Prime Minister.
