Police have retained the 2023 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl after an 11-all draw against Army in an intense encounter at Prince Charles Park in Nadi this afternoon.

Police started well with a penalty to flyhalf Apisalome Waqatabu for an early 3-0 lead before Army replied with a try to Onisimo Nawalo and a penalty to flyhalf Sanaila Daliga to take an 8-3 lead.

The game went into halftime with Army leading 8-3.

Police started the second half strongly with a try to winger Jone Dukumoi to level the score at 8-all.

Waqatabu kicked another penalty for an 11-8 lead before Daliga leveled the score with a penalty kick in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Army gave their all in the final minutes of the game but Police stood out with their defence to keep them at bay.

This is the fourth time that a draw has occured in the competition with the last time was back in 2004.
