Police will continue to issue advisories and hope that people will take them seriously for their own good.

Police raised concerns after a video was posted on Facebook showing the villagers of Navala, Ba transporting individuals in the middle of a flooded river.

Chief Operations Officer (COO) Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police (A/ACP) Livai Driu says a man lost his life yesterday in a similar situation, and despite the repeated calls to be safe, it is unfortunate that some still take such risks.

Police are urging Fijians to follow advisories issued by the Fiji NDMO and Fiji Meteorological Service.

Should anyone need assistance, please reach out to Fiji Police Force on 917 or call any of the NDMO divisional emergency operation centres:

1) National Police Command & Control Centre - 9905 296 2) Western Command Centre - 9905 457 3) Northern Command Centre - 9905 722 4) Southern Command Centre - 9905 529 5) Eastern Command Centre - 9905 563 6) Central Command Centre - 893 2875

You can contact us via the Facebook messenger account, fijivillage if your area is affected by flood waters. People can also share photos and videos of the affected areas.

Call us if you need emergency assistance and we will reach out to the relevant agencies to assist.

You can also call us on 3314766, 9923351 or 7734766.
