The former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Itendra Nair and former Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Surend Sami, were officially farewelled by the Fiji Police Force Management team.

Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew acknowledged the two retirees for their years of service and wished both officers the very best in their retirement.

Chew reminded the officers that attended the farewell ceremony that one day they will exit the force, and they will need to prepare themselves and plan for their retirement.

He says officers need to continue to strive for excellence so that when they leave the organization, they leave their own legacy.

Former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Itendra Nair, says he has had a wonderful career in the Force, and it is time now for him to enjoy life and focus more on his family.

Nair joined the Force when he was 18 years old.

He adds the Fiji Police Force has given everything he wanted in life, and it has taken him around the world as well.

Meanwhile, Sami says he also had a wonderful career and is leaving the Force with no regrets.

The former Assistant Commissioner of Police says he was overwhelmed with the traditional protocol accorded to them, and he will miss the very organization that had developed him into a leader.

He says it may be a sad day for the Force to lose two experienced officers, but he believes that both of their families will be happy that they have completed their terms in the organization.
