Kings Road at Makoi.

Police continue to maintain heavy presence at strategic locations into day two of the Suva and Nausori lockdown.

The roads between Suva and Nausori remain empty and the only vehicles that are visible belong to police, security companies and other government agencies.

Some of the checkpoints that police have erected are at Koronivia Road Junction on Kings Road, Wainibuku Road Junction near Rups Mega Complex, Laqere Bridge, Kinoya Traffic Lights, Mead Road Housing in Nabua, Grantham Road roundabout near Gaji Road and Brown Street in Toorak.

Police officers are also patrolling in many residential and city areas.

Police spokesperson Savaira Gonedua says this is part of their normal patrolling during this lockdown.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu also paid a surprise visit to some of the checkpoints last night to witness the operations.
