Players who assault other players or are engaged in a brawl against another team during the 45th Fiji Bitter Sapphire Marist 7s will be reported to the police.

Tournament Coordinator Koli Korovulavula says if a player assaults or gets into a brawl with another team, the rule of the land applies where players will be reported to the police.

He says discipline has been an ongoing issue for rugby in the country and they hope this year's tournament will see a decrease in this area.

Twelve pools of four teams will compete in the main competition, two in the women's competition and four pools for the Under 21 competition.

Some teams that have confirmed their spot for the Marist 7s include Marist, Life After Rugby team, Jussi Buinivai, Lami Cavaliers, Bua K9 Barbarians, Tabadamu, Army and Police Blue.

The Marist 7s will be held from next Thursday to Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
