People’s Alliance Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka

People's Alliance Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka has confirmed that they will launch their party manifesto on the 26th of April.

Rabuka revealed this during the Special People’s Alliance Assembly which was held at Vunimono High School Hall in Nausori.

He says their manifesto will incorporate their vision and values which is ways they intend to improve health, infrastructure, production and how they intend to grow our GDP.

Rabuka says their mission is to win the general elections and to govern the country as one nation under God in a just, democratic manner and deliver an enabling environment for all citizens of Fiji to live decent, productive and honourable lives.

He says their manifesto will also reflect sections of their party constitution which was adopted today.

Rabuka says this will bind them to encourage individual enterprise and the pursuit of excellence, protection of human rights, civil liberties and freedom of expression.

He says it will also commit them to holding taxation to a minimum, developing new industries and integrating e-commerce into all facets of business.

The party leader says as the election draws near, they are preparing to evaluate more than 150 applications seeking to contest the poll as People’s Alliance Parliamentary elections candidates and his name is among them.

Rabuka says the multi-racial list contains many outstanding applicants.

He says a selection panel will be announced soon and people can expect announcements to be made in the next few days.

Meanwhile former FijiFirst MP Balmindar Singh has confirmed that he has also applied.

Singh says a leader should stand up and take responsibility and that is why he has decided to join Rabuka.

Singh contested for the FijiFirst in 2014 and later faced assault charges in 2017.

This was dismissed after the complainant and Singh reconciled in the Suva Magistrates Court.
