The disciplinary committee of the People’s Alliance has been given 21 days to investigate the matter regarding Lynda Tabuya.

This has been confirmed by the General Secretary, Sila Balawa who says the committee needs to complete its work and submit a report to the People’s Alliance Management Committee.

Balawa says the meeting held this afternoon by the party’s executive members was primarily to provide updates on the steps being taken to address the issue concerning Tabuya.

He also clarified that there was no discussion about expelling Tabuya, as the party’s disciplinary committee has already been constituted and is actively handling the matter.

Balawa says the People’s Alliance Constitution establishes a disciplinary committee to address such issues.

He says the committee should be allowed to conduct its work independently and with due diligence.

Balawa also highlighted several meetings are expected to take place as the process continues.

He adds the disciplinary committee typically submits its report to the People’s Alliance Management Committee, which will then review and decide on the next steps.

This afternoon’s meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica, Minister of Forestry Alitia Bainivalu, Minister of Agriculture Vatimi Rayalu, Assistant Minister for Finance Esrom Immanuel and Ratu Isoa Gavidi.
