Vodafone Fiji is urging people to disable the “automatic” time setting mode on their device to prevent their device time moving forward by an hour tomorrow at 2am.

Vodafone Fiji says as per government advisory there will be no Daylight-Saving Time implemented in Fiji this year, however because of previous year’s Daylight-Saving Time software patches applied by device manufacturers still current in people’s electronic device, the time on the electronic device such as phones, tablets, laptops could still move forward by an hour tomorrow.

They say they have no control on the time displayed on people’s device clock as this works on the proprietary software of the device manufacturer.

However, Vodafone says they are proactively advising its users to be aware of potential changes in their device time since many users depend on their mobile phones to keep up with time and appointments.
