No time frame has been given by the Water Authority of Fiji on when water supply will normalise in Tamavua and Sakoca including Upper Ragg Avenue, Khalsa and Tacirua Heights.

People living along these areas have been without water supply for 7 days now and no solution seems in sight.

The frustrated residents say life has become hard for them as they do not have water to cook, drink, wash and bath.

Some residents say they have elderly people and children in their families which also affects their hygiene.

They say elderly people are sick and cannot carry heavy buckets of water to their homes from the main road. While speaking to fijivillage News, Rakeshwar Prasad of Khalsa Road says they spend around $70 a week to buy bottled water while some residents says they cannot even afford to buy a water tank or bottled water as it is too expensive.

Some residents of Samabula and nearby areas have also raised concerns that almost every week they are without water supply.

They say there was no water supply on Saturday, and it was restored on Sunday morning however, the water was turned off again on Sunday.

Water Authority of Fiji's Chief Operating Officer Seru Soderberg had earlier stated that the blockage due to continuous heavy rain that resulted in the Savura raw water intake getting flooded was cleared and water supply was expected to normalise on Sunday evening however, people are still without water.

We have sent further questions to WAF.
