Long lines outside supermarkets this morning.

As discussions continue regarding what steps will be taken in relation to the COVID-19 cases in the country, a number of people resorted to panic buying from this morning.

Legend FM News witnessed people standing in long lines outside the major supermarkets in Suva, Nasinu, Nausori and Navua today.

The line outside Newworld IGA Supermarket in Damodar City extended to the footpath outside the complex.

This was also witnessed at Shop N Save supermarkets in Valelevu, Nabua and Rups Mega Complex in Nakasi as well.

The long line outside Shop N Save in Nabua extended all the way to the car park.

Security outside the supermarket were checking if people had the careFiji app and noting their details while staff inside the supermarket ensured people practiced social distancing.

People were also seen lining up outside CJS Supermarket in Nabua.

Similar scenes were witnessed at MH Supermarket in Flagstaff where people were lined up to the end of the car park.

We have seen people standing in long lines outside RB Centrepoint in Laucala Beach, Kundan Singh Supermarket, Fresh Choice Supermarket, MH Superfresh and Cost U Less.

Some of these lines extended to the footpath.

Legend FM News has also received reports that a number of people rushed to the MH Supermarket in Navua to do their shopping after the closure of Extra Supermarket in Flagstaff, Hanson’s and Shop N Save Supermarkets and nearby shops in Makoi.
