Besides providing structured support to empower these communities, the Pacific Recycling Foundation will also explore ways of transitioning some of the Community Pillars of Recycling communities into formal or green-collar jobs.

PRF Founder Amitesh Deo stated this when questioned by fijivillage News on how they will help the Community Pillars of Recycling communities.

Deo says this will be done progressively through different projects such as working with other industry partners to employ some CPR as recyclable sorting staff at their Waste Recyclers site

He further says increasing volumes of recyclables collected will in turn result in local facilities where some CPR’s can be employed.

The founder says they will also be working with other civil society organisation partners to provide upskilling training to the CPR communities to ensure they can be employed in other sectors or be multi-skilled.
