As Christmas approaches, the Pacific Recycling Foundation is urging everyone to reflect on the alarming state of our failing society, which is becoming as brittle and toxic as the plastic pollution that plagues our environment.

PRF Founder Amitesh Deo says there is a need for collective action to address twisted issues of environmental and social justice.

Deo says to confront societal failures and adopt a global mindset, people need to work together to create justice and sustainability for all.

Deo is calling on politicians to think beyond the confines of their popularity or the duration of their term in government, urging them to make bold, transformative decisions that will benefit future generations.

He also stresses the need for manufacturers, distributors, and other sectors to engage in meaningful conversations with those involved in recycling, rather than confusing brand advertising gimmicks with genuine recycling recovery efforts.

Deo also urges development agencies to focus on funding practical waste management solutions rather than conferences and research.

He is reminding every Fijian to do their part by disposing of recyclables responsibly, stressing that tackling the waste crisis is a shared responsibility.

The PRF Founder says Christmas is a time for meaningful action to build a just, inclusive and sustainable society, leaving behind a legacy of hope and progress for future generations.

PRF calls for a renewed commitment to shared responsibilities this festive season.
